What is something that most people don’t know about you?
I speak three languages, but can’t spell in any of them.

Why did you become a missionary?
When I was 17 and baptized in the Holy Spirit, God put 2 words in my mind. Youth and Mission's. I spent 7 years as a Youth Pastor in Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee, then God told me to move to Nashville, Tennessee. There I met some musicians that let me go to the recording studio’s with them and I learned a lot of technical skills in audio. Then a friend invited me International Media Ministries in Brussels,
Belgium. After about three months of praying and fighting with God, I finally applied to be a missionary. I was approved and went to the missions field in 1997.

What do you love the most about being a media missionary?
I love the fact that Media has the possibility of transforming someones life. The Gospel can impact someone sitting thousands of miles away who may never enter a church. Thinking about this in the context of Africa, there are villages that will receive the gospel only by radio. There are over 200 million radios in Africa.  The fact that media has such a broad reach, means more people can hear the Gospel than I could do one-on-one.

What is something that most people don’t know about you?
I played soccer for 13 years. I also went to school and was a licensed massage therapist for a few years before going into missions.

Why did you become a missionary?
Well, as I was trying to pursue a career in the medical field, working during the day and going to school at night, God kept directing me into accounting jobs.  I never really understood it.  But after four missions trips, I was hooked.  On a trip to IMM, then in Brussels Belgium, I felt God telling me I would be back.   So I prayed about it and by June 2001 I was accepted as a 2 year Missionary Associate. I went to IMM in January 2002 and met Jonathan.  We married in 2004 and we’ve been serving together ever since.

What do you love the most about being a missionary?
It’s interesting talking to people about my role in missions.  Not many people realize that you can use accounting and office administration skills in a missionary role.  I’m excited that I get to be part of helping instill in others the ethical side of “doing” business.  I’ll be able to help streamline systems and make the work of the Radio/TV stations easier.  I just love serving people and making their lives better. The fact that I can do this with “ordinary” skills on the missions field is just an amazing feeling.
